Maintenance Fitter – Manufacturing Plant

About the role

BlueScope is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join its Novar Gardens team at Lysaght. This hands‑on position supports a busy manufacturing operation, covering preventive maintenance, breakdown response, equipment upgrades and capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of manufacturing equipment.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns, troubleshoot faults and isolate equipment safely.
• Support shutdown planning, equipment upgrades and capital project activities.
• Record work in the maintenance management system and complete JSEAs and permit documentation.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner.
• Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment with strong fault‑finding skills.
• Understanding of safe work practices, permits and maintenance compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with fitters, electricians and operations staff.
