Team Lead - Oncology Research Unit, Brisbane

About the role

Research at Icon Oncology Group is seeking an experienced clinical research professional to lead the Wesley Research Unit in Brisbane. The role covers team leadership, operational performance and the delivery of a growing clinical trial portfolio. It suits an experienced Team Lead, Senior Clinical Research Coordinator or another research professional ready to move into leadership.

The position is Monday to Friday with no weekends, and involves working with investigators, sponsors and a multidisciplinary team of research professionals, investigators and nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the Wesley research team
• Provide day-to-day operational oversight and support
• Manage workforce planning, resource allocation and study distribution
• Support feasibility, recruitment, onboarding and professional development of staff
• Drive high-quality clinical trial delivery and participant experience
• Build relationships with investigators, sponsors and key stakeholders
• Monitor site performance, recruitment and study delivery metrics
• Support strategic initiatives and service improvements, and escalate and manage operational risks
• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture

Required profile

• Substantial clinical research experience and a strong understanding of site-based trial operations
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or coordinating others
• Previous experience as a Team Lead, Senior Clinical Research Coordinator or equivalent is highly regarded
• Strong operational judgement and ability to manage competing priorities
• Confidence building relationships with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of GCP, protocol and regulatory requirements
• A practical, accountable and solutions-focused leadership style
