Teacher – Career and Vocational Education

About the role

Comet Bay College is seeking a qualified and passionate teacher to lead the School Transition to Employment (STEP) program and deliver senior VET and WACE courses across Years 11‑12. The role starts in Term 1 2027 on a permanent full‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the college’s internal VET qualifications and support the Dean of VET in implementing and improving STEP and other career development services (0.2 FTE).
• Teach senior WACE subjects such as General English, Maths Essential, General Health and deliver industry‑focused vocational qualifications.
• Assess and reflect on teaching practice using college‑provided methods, promoting active and positive learning environments.

Required profile

• Hold a current teacher qualification and registration, with eligibility to work in Australia.
• Student‑focused, innovative, able to work collaboratively in a team and demonstrate an engaging teaching style.
• Willingness to obtain or already hold a TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Required skills

• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or commitment to obtain it).
• TAESS00024 – VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set.
