Tax Preparer - Maitland, Singleton & Cessnock

About the role

Accountable Recruitment Solutions is recruiting Tax Preparers for its Tax Services client in the Hunter region, with multiple positions available. Work is based at the Maitland, Singleton or Cessnock offices, with flexible working hours: full-time, part-time or casual, 10 to 40 hours depending on family commitments, and the option to work Monday to Saturday, afternoon or evening shifts or standard office hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and timely tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS)
• Respond to client inquiries and give clear, concise answers to tax questions
• Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and regulations
• Manage administrative tasks and follow up with clients to ensure their satisfaction

Required profile

• Completed Tax Preparation course, B.Com or TAFE
• Proven experience as a Tax Preparer
• Experience in a tax services business or accounting firm is required
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations and compliance
• Attention to detail and accuracy in tax preparation
• Ability to work independently with flexible hours and a proactive approach to research

Required skills

• Necessary experience with Xero Tax or Hand Tax
• Experience with Xero invoicing
• Excel, Word and Outlook

What we offer

• Salary of $60,000 to $80,000 per year
• Flexible hours, including the option to choose your own days and afternoon or evening shifts
