Tax Accountant

About the role

Rise Accountants is seeking a motivated Tax Return Accountant to join its client‑focused team. The role is ideal for an accountant with 1–2 years of Australian public practice experience who wants to deepen technical knowledge and work closely with key clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and lodge approximately 17 individual tax returns per week accurately and efficiently.
• Conduct discovery calls with prospective personal tax return clients.
• Advise clients on property‑related taxation matters, including Principal Place of Residence rules, Capital Gains Tax and interest deductibility strategies.
• Provide compliant, practical tax advice to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
• Build strong client relationships through professional communication and trusted advice.
• Collaborate with the wider team to maintain high standards of client service.

Required profile

• 1–2 years’ experience within an Australian public practice accounting firm.
• Experience preparing Australian individual income tax returns.
• Solid understanding of Australian taxation legislation.
• Exposure to property taxation, including CGT and interest deductibility, or a willingness to develop in these areas.
