Tax Accountant

About the role
MinterEllison is seeking a Tax Accountant with 3 to 6 years of experience to join its Financial Services team in Sydney or Brisbane. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will support the firm’s tax compliance and reporting obligations across multiple entities.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge income tax returns, BAS, and instalment activity statements.
- Prepare FBT returns, payroll tax returns, and GST reconciliations.
- Maintain tax effect accounting workpapers and the firm’s tax fixed‑asset register.
- Perform monthly and quarterly tax reconciliations, including balance‑sheet provisions and PAYG instalment tracking.
- Respond to ATO correspondence and assist with tax audits and assurance reviews.
- Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives and tax technology enhancements.
- Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, and Business Services teams to ensure accurate tax data across systems.
Required profile
- 3–6 years of experience in tax accounting or compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
Required skills
