TAFE Engineering Teacher – Fitting & Machining

About the role

We are seeking a permanent full‑time TAFE Engineering Teacher specialising in Fitting and Machining. You will deliver practical, classroom, online and workplace training to students, preparing them for careers in Australia’s manufacturing and engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver workshop and classroom sessions covering fitting, machining and related mechanical trade skills.
• Assess student performance using competency‑based assessment methods.
• Develop and update learning materials to reflect current industry practices.
• Provide online and workplace training components as required.
• Maintain industry connections to ensure course relevance.

Required profile

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting & Machining) or equivalent (MEM30219).
• Current industry experience in fitting and machining.
• Demonstrated knowledge of vocational training and assessment.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in training and assessment.
• Willingness to hold or obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent.
