Systems Engineer / Specialist Technician – Technical Support to Schools

About the role

Bytewize is looking for highly experienced IT professionals to join its team and deliver technical support services to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). The role involves managing and maintaining ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools and supporting both staff and students in technology‑driven learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks and Windows/Linux server environments.
• Provide ICT support services in large, technology‑driven learning environments.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in senior‑level ICT support.
• Previous experience within the TSSP program, the education sector, or equivalent corporate IT support.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (citizen, PR, or permanent visa), a current driver’s licence, and willingness to undergo police and background checks.

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rata) AUD, top rates guaranteed based on skills and experience.
