Systems Engineer / Senior Engineer – SOE

About the role

Kinetic IT is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer or Senior Engineer to design, build, and support secure Windows desktop and server Standard Operating Environments (SOEs) for a Federal Government client. The role is fully onsite and requires an active NV1 or NV2 security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve secure Windows 10/11 and Windows Server SOEs across production and test environments.
• Manage OS imaging, configuration, patching, application deployment and endpoint compliance using SCCM/MECM.
• Package, test and release Microsoft 365, Adobe Reader and bespoke applications for secure enterprise use.
• Troubleshoot complex SOE and application issues, document solutions and collaborate with infrastructure, security and support teams.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with an active NV1 or NV2 Government security clearance.
• Strong background in enterprise endpoint engineering within highly controlled environments.
• Methodical problem‑solving approach with clear technical documentation and communication skills.

Required skills

• Windows 10/11 and Windows Server administration.
• SCCM/MECM for imaging, patching and application deployment.
• Microsoft 365 and Adobe Reader packaging.
• Endpoint security and hardening practices.
