Systems Engineer / Administrator - Identity, PKI and Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

A client is seeking a Systems Engineer or Administrator with strong Identity, PKI and Cloud Infrastructure experience for a Canberra-based, hybrid position. The role is full time and requires NV1 clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain Windows Server environments, including patching, hardening and troubleshooting.
• Manage PKI and certificate lifecycle: design, issue, renew and revoke certificates, and administer KeyFactor Command.
• Administer Active Directory and Domain Controllers, including GPOs, replication and AD health.
• Support cloud identity and connectivity with Entra Connect and Entra ID, and integrate on-premises identity with cloud services.
• Manage AWS Connect and related cloud services.
• Deploy and support Azure Virtual Desktop, including environments and user profiles.
• Administer Nerdio, or handle AVD provisioning and management.
• Take part in incident response, root cause analysis and postmortems.
• Automate operational tasks with scripting, document runbooks, run regular health checks and provide knowledge transfer.

Required profile

• Proven Windows Server administration experience.
• Strong PKI and certificate management knowledge; KeyFactor Command experience preferred.
• Hands-on Active Directory and Domain Controller experience.
• Entra Connect and Entra ID configuration and troubleshooting experience.
• Familiarity with Azure AVD and Nerdio for desktop virtualization.
• Experience integrating on-premises identity with cloud services.
• Scripting skills for automation and operational tasks.
• Solid troubleshooting and incident management skills, good communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Required skills

• Niche core: Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Entra Connect, Azure Virtual Desktop, Nerdio, AWS Connect, PKI and certificate management.
• Highly desirable: VMware administration, CyberArk Machine Identity or other machine identity management, AWS services, and certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Identity and Access Administrator.
