Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and harden Windows and Linux servers for our Sydney-based operations. The role can be permanent or contract and requires full Australian work rights.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and harden servers according to standard operating environment (SOE) and security policies.
• Manage Active Directory domains, including joins, promotions, Group Policy hardening and DNS services.
• Maintain VMware infrastructure, apply patches, firmware updates and perform routine system maintenance.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, tune resources and support production deployments.
• Follow established SOPs for server builds, go-live activities and operational readiness reviews.
• Document configurations, changes and incidents with strong analytical rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS and Group Policy.
• Proven ability to harden servers and apply security best practices.
• Experience working in VMware environments and performing regular patching.
• Strong documentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Australian visa with full work rights.
