Systems Administrator

About the role

The Sydney Opera House is looking for a Systems Administrator to support and enhance its technology environment, delivering reliable, secure and scalable infrastructure services. The role works with colleagues and stakeholders on system operations, maintenance, capacity planning and continuous improvement across storage, compute and data centre platforms, and contributes to designing and implementing technology solutions.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in ICT, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 4 years' experience as a technology specialist, including 1 year administering compute, storage, cloud and related systems.
• Significant experience delivering and supporting highly available cloud and on-premises data centre infrastructure, with demonstrated systems administration expertise (vendor certification desirable).
• Sound knowledge of data centre operations, including power, cooling, physical infrastructure, redundancy and resilience principles.
• Advanced communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and make technology decisions from a whole-of-business perspective.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritise competing demands and show flexibility and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Existing Australian work rights; offers are subject to a National Police Check and pre-employment health assessment.
