Systems Administrator – Defence & Marine Projects

About the role

Downer Professional Services is seeking a Systems Administrator to join its HQJOC team in Bungendore. The role supports critical defence and marine projects, ensuring reliable IT infrastructure for national security operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 systems administration support to end‑users.
• Contribute to network design, implementation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Perform hardware, software and network interface testing.
• Communicate technical and non‑technical issues with system users, engineers, DBAs and testers.
• Support Information Assurance activities and maintain cyber system IT architecture.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with RH Linux and Windows environments.
• Proven ability to deliver Level 1 and Level 2 system administration support.
• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, network design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Information Assurance, relational databases and SCIF protocols.
• Current security clearance as required by the Commonwealth; ITAR compliance may be required.
