System Administrator Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

IAG Defence & National Security is seeking a senior Infrastructure Engineer (Systems Administrator) to join a national security agency in Canberra. You will implement, manage and retire physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure supporting digital services, with a high degree of autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, manage and retire infrastructure (physical, virtual, networking and cloud) for digital services.
• Support deployment of Kubernetes and VM‑based analysis tools across multiple cloud environments.
• Build and maintain OpenSearch clusters and Kubernetes environments.
• Work within VMware virtualisation environments and create system documentation and SOPs.

Required profile

• Current or reinstatable TSPV security clearance and ability to complete an Organisation Suitability Assessment.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Linux systems administration across varied environments.
• Proven experience building and maintaining OpenSearch and Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with VMware, cloud services and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
