Sustainment Engineering Manager

About the role

Saab Australia is seeking a Sustainment Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering and Sustainment Services team. The role focuses on ensuring ongoing combat system availability, managing engineering change, and collaborating with stakeholders to meet contractual and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary Combat Systems Support team, providing technical leadership and engineering sustainment.
• Manage combat system availability, maintenance, technical investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and implement processes, policies and frameworks to drive team performance, compliance and service delivery.
• Oversee budgets, financial performance and reporting to ensure value‑for‑money outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional systems engineering accreditation desirable.
• Extensive engineering experience with leadership of technical teams in defence or complex technology environments.
• Strong knowledge of Combat Management Systems, weapons and fire‑control systems, EMI/EMC, RADHAZ and emission security principles.
• Experience in engineering program/project management, asset management and sustainment of complex systems.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
