Surveyor (Linesmen) – Overhead Transmission Projects

About the role

ACCIONA, through its joint venture ACJV, is seeking experienced Surveyors (Linesmen) to support the set‑out, alignment and construction verification of overhead transmission line infrastructure for the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone. This remote‑project position operates on a 14‑days‑on / 7‑days‑off roster and requires regular travel between Sydney and the Mudgee region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with survey set‑out for transmission line structures and access tracks.
• Verify alignment, levels and positioning of poles, towers and foundations.
• Support construction teams with mark‑up, measurements and survey data.
• Use surveying equipment such as GPS and total stations to ensure work accuracy.
• Interpret plans and drawings to guide construction activities.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors and line crews.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety procedures and site requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in surveying within civil construction or transmission projects.
• Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead (or equivalent Linesman qualification) is highly regarded.
• Proven experience on overhead transmission line construction sites.

Required skills

• Proficient use of GPS for surveying.
• Proficient use of total station equipment.
• Strong surveying and set‑out capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
