Surgery Veterinary Nurse – ARH Homebush

About the role

Join the dynamic surgery team at ARH Homebush, a leading multi‑specialist and 24‑hour emergency referral hospital. You will work alongside experienced surgeons, anaesthesia professionals and a skilled nursing team, supporting a diverse surgical caseload from orthopaedic to soft‑tissue procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide surgical patient treatment, recovery monitoring and post‑operative care.
• Place IV catheters, administer fluid therapy and perform blood sampling using in‑house lab equipment.
• Clean, autoclave and maintain surgical instruments and specialised equipment.
• Assist in anaesthesia, radiology (including CT & MRI) and specialist theatre nursing.

Required profile

• Completed Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing with at least 3 years of nursing experience.
• Passionate about surgery, detail‑oriented and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Team player who can also work independently with strong time‑management skills.

Required skills

• IV catheter placement and fluid therapy.
• Blood collection and use of in‑house laboratory equipment.
• Cleaning and autoclaving of surgical instruments.
• Anaesthesia assistance and radiology (CT & MRI) knowledge.
• Familiarity with Rx Works / Smart Flow (preferred).
