Support Team Leader – Legal Support (12‑month contract)

About the role

Slater and Gordon Lawyers are seeking an experienced Support Team Leader to manage the Motor Vehicle Accident support team in Epping. This 12‑month contract role combines senior legal assistance with team leadership, supporting the Practice Leader on workers compensation and motor vehicle accident matters.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Practice Leader in managing files, arranging conferences, mediations, and drafting court documents.
• Prepare trial materials, monitor court timetables, and coordinate client relationships with counsel and third parties.
• Manage the Practice Leader’s diary and oversee the support team’s performance targets.
• Mentor, train, and develop team members, coordinating in‑office and remote work arrangements.
• Handle administrative duties such as attendance scheduling, leave management, and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Legal Assistant with a focus on social justice.
• Previous experience managing a legal support team and supporting senior lawyers.
• Strong empathy, communication, and customer‑service orientation.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management, and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
