Supervisory Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist (Avionics)

About the role

The Avionics Engineering Department of the Airborne ASW Battlespace Division seeks a senior leader to oversee interdisciplinary engineering and scientific activities. This supervisory position guides a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and technicians in research, development, acquisition, and support of airborne anti‑submarine warfare systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Branch as Head of the Airborne ASW Battlespace Division, managing personnel, processes, and facilities.
• Allocate resources to program teams, coordinate with peer managers in government and industry.
• Supervise a professional force ranging from junior to senior levels, assigning work based on priorities and employee capabilities.
• Develop and integrate funding plans into the Division’s budget, managing financial resources for current and proposed programs.
• Act as expert consultant and engineering advisor to internal offices, labs, government agencies, industry, academia, and foreign partners.
• Maintain liaison with technical and management leaders in other government, industry, and university laboratories to stay current on pioneering work.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising interdisciplinary engineering or scientific teams.
• Strong background in electrical, computer, electronics engineering, physics, or computer science.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, and develop funding plans.
• Excellent liaison and coordination skills with government, industry, and academic partners.
