Superintendent Communities and Social Performance

About the role

Glencore's Mount Isa Mines Operations (MIM) is recruiting a Superintendent of Communities and Social Performance. The role leads site-level delivery of the Communities and Social Performance (CSP) function, including stakeholder engagement, community and Indigenous relations, cultural heritage, social investment, human rights and associated social performance programs. It provides leadership and direction to the site CSP team so that local CSP delivery is consistent with group-level targets and expectations. The employer is looking for someone open to moving to the Mt Isa region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site CSP team and ensure full breadth of local CSP delivery is well executed.
• Build relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and stay active in the community.
• Deliver stakeholder engagement, community and Indigenous relations, cultural heritage, social investment and human rights programs.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Social Science, Community Development, Indigenous Studies, Communications or a related field preferred.
• Substantial experience in community relations, social performance or Indigenous engagement, ideally in resources or a related industry.
• Demonstrated experience building relationships with Traditional Owners and Indigenous organisations.
• Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing a team.
• Commitment to Glencore's values and a genuine interest in community and Indigenous engagement outcomes.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of Queensland cultural heritage legislation and processes.
• Social performance risk awareness and management in a large industrial operation.
• Strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including with government and community stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a complex organisation and manage competing priorities.
