Electronics Engineering Student Intern - Summer 2026/27

About the role

IntelliDesign is seeking an Electronics Engineering Student Intern to join its Design & Engineering team over the summer university break (approximately 12 weeks in Summer 2026/27). This is a paid, full-time internship for students who want real-world engineering experience beyond theory and lab work. You will work alongside Electronics, Software, Mechanical and Manufacturing engineers and contribute to a range of projects, seeing how design decisions become manufactured products.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with electronic design, testing and validation activities
• Support prototype builds and product development projects
• Conduct investigations, experiments and technical evaluations
• Assist with PCB bring-up, debugging and verification
• Take part in product testing and fault-finding
• Work with production teams on design-for-manufacture principles
• Document engineering activities and test results
• Contribute ideas and solutions in a collaborative engineering team

Required profile

• Currently studying Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• In your third or fourth year of study
• Hands-on, curious and eager to learn
• Able to work well in a team and communicate technical information clearly
• Naturally organised with strong attention to detail

Required skills

• Bonus: PCB design and schematic capture
• Bonus: embedded systems or microcontrollers
• Bonus: electronics troubleshooting and debugging, soldering and prototype assembly
• Bonus: programming in C/C++, Python or similar
