About the role
The Subcontracts Manager joins Saab Australia's Supply Chain Team to provide end‑to‑end subcontract management support across bids and project delivery. Reporting to the Senior Subcontracts Manager, the role combines strategic planning, risk assessment and contract execution to ensure compliance and value for money.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement and manage subcontract processes from sourcing to delivery.
- Conduct supply‑chain risk assessments, due‑diligence and make/buy analyses.
- Collaborate with commercial, legal and finance teams to align contracts with ASDEFCON requirements.
- Prepare RFP/Q documents, evaluate proposals and lead negotiations.
- Provide governance, audit support and reporting for subcontract performance.
- Manage contract variations, milestone payments and related financial mechanisms.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of subcontract management experience in the defence industry.
- Proven ability to work across legal, commercial and project teams.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
