Study Start Up Associate

About the role

ICON is seeking a Study Start Up Associate to act as a strategic liaison between ICON and key investigator sites across Australia. The role is home‑based and focuses on building strong site relationships, supporting study start‑up activities, and driving performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with investigator sites, serving as their primary ICON contact.
• Support multiple studies by facilitating communication, addressing operational challenges, and escalating issues.
• Collaborate with clinical operations, feasibility, and project teams to align site capabilities with study opportunities.
• Gather and share site feedback to inform protocol design and process improvements.
• Monitor site performance metrics such as start‑up timelines, recruitment, and quality, and drive improvement actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, healthcare, or related field, or equivalent clinical research experience.
• Minimum 2+ years of study start‑up experience within a CRO or pharma environment.
• Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills with credibility among investigators.
• Good understanding of clinical trial operations, site processes, and recruitment drivers.
• Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with ability to manage multiple sites and studies.

Required skills
