Strategic Sourcing Manager

About the role

Coles is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead a high‑impact sourcing function for its Own Brand portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Better Buying, you will drive commercial outcomes, improve margins and support long‑term growth through best‑in‑class sourcing practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic sourcing roadmap that delivers significant cost savings and value creation.
• Drive margin improvement using data‑led insights, benchmarking and supplier strategy.
• Partner with Own Brand and business units to align sourcing strategies with category growth plans.
• Build, coach and lead a high‑performing sourcing team, embedding best‑in‑class processes and tools.
• Champion continuous improvement by leveraging technology and AI to optimise sourcing outcomes.
• Strengthen stakeholder engagement across Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain and Sustainability.
• Lead governance, reporting and accountability for sourcing performance and KPIs.
• Conduct complex commercial negotiations with suppliers across multiple categories and markets.

Required profile

• Commercially astute leader with a proven track record of delivering tangible business impact.
• Strong balance of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution.
• Experience leading high‑performing teams in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex negotiations and deliver value.
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline.
