Strategic Sourcing Consultant

About the role

Westbourne Food and Agriculture is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Consultant to lead end‑to‑end sourcing initiatives for clients in the food, agriculture and retail sectors. The role will involve developing sourcing strategies, engaging with markets, negotiating contracts and supporting implementation across a variety of categories. The consultant will work onsite in Melbourne on a six‑month fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute sourcing strategies for direct categories, aligning with client objectives.
• Conduct market research, supplier identification and engagement.
• Lead negotiations, develop recommendations and support contract implementation.
• Collaborate with client teams to ensure seamless integration of sourcing solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in a top‑tier, Big 4 or specialist procurement consultancy.
• Proven track record of managing full‑cycle sourcing projects.
• Experience sourcing direct categories, preferably within FMCG environments.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
