Statewide Program Coordinator, Quality & Safety

About the role

The Statewide Program Coordinator, Clinical Safety and Quality leads quality improvement, patient safety and clinical governance across the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service. The role develops, implements and maintains governance frameworks for safety, quality, risk management and evidence-based service delivery, and works with clinical teams, hospital and health services and statewide stakeholders to lead quality and safety initiatives, coordinate service improvement projects, support accreditation and compliance and advise on clinical governance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate quality, patient safety, risk management and service improvement initiatives using project management, change management and evaluation methods.
• Partner with clinical teams and stakeholders to strengthen quality assurance, governance, audit and compliance processes in line with healthcare standards.
• Provide education, mentoring and coaching to staff and leaders on clinical quality, patient safety, incident management and continuous improvement.
• Analyse clinical, safety and risk data to identify improvement opportunities and support evidence-based decisions.
• Support end-to-end clinical incident management, promote a restorative, learning culture and share safety learnings to improve consumer outcomes.

Required profile

• Able to carry out the accountabilities in line with Metro North Health's values.
• Experience leading quality and safety programs and analysing clinical data.
