Statewide Facilitator - Diffuse Program

About the role

YFS is looking for a Statewide Facilitator to join its Domestic and Family Violence Team and deliver the psychoeducational program Diffuse in correctional centres across Queensland. Diffuse consists of seven two-hour sessions that use strengths-based and trauma-informed practices to give participants resources, tools and information to address domestic and family violence. The role is permanent and part-time, 32 hours per week, with a pay of $58.37 an hour; salary packaging is exempt from fringe benefits tax.

The work takes place in Lockyer Valley, Maryborough, Wacol and Townsville, and involves working closely with a co-facilitator to create a culturally safe, strengths-based and trauma-informed group environment that supports participant engagement, reflection and learning. Through a psychoeducational approach, participants reflect on their relationship experiences and explore what is and is not healthy.

Required profile

• Experience delivering psychoeducation and group facilitation.
• Experience working with men involved in domestic and family violence.
• A deep understanding and evidence in practice of the gendered nature of domestic and family violence.
• Driven to end domestic and family violence and to build the belief and motivation in men towards a safer future free of violence.
• Thrives in a team that engages in critical self-reflection and accountable practice within a pro-feminist framework.
