State Manager – Retail Projects (Client Side)

About the role

The State Manager will lead the delivery of capital works, refurbishments and development projects for a major retail property portfolio across Queensland. Reporting to senior leadership, you will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with minimal disruption to live retail environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of retail projects across Queensland, from planning through to handover.
• Manage, mentor and develop a team of Project Managers.
• Oversee project budgets, programmes, risk registers and governance frameworks.
• Maintain business continuity while working in live operating environments.
• Build and sustain relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and tenants.
• Drive consistency, performance and best‑practice across the project portfolio.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering retail, shopping centre, mixed‑use or multi‑site projects.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing project teams.
• Strong understanding of project delivery within live operational environments.
• Background in client‑side consultancy, landlord, developer, retail organisation or contractor settings.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and commercial acumen.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Property or a related discipline.
