About the role

The Alliance Française de Canberra is offering a six‑month internship to support French language teaching (FLE). Working under the Course Coordinator, you will assist with classroom instruction, lesson preparation, and cultural activities for adult and youth learners.

Key responsibilities

• Teach general, written and oral French to groups and private students (levels A1‑C1) from Monday to Saturday.
• Provide personalized support to students and correct coursework.
• Research, plan and create lesson materials and resources.
• Develop and lead thematic workshops in collaboration with the coordinator.
• Participate in teacher meetings and Alliance events.
• Handle administrative tasks such as attendance lists and student records.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master program (FLE, language didactics, training engineering, or LEA).
• Strong interpersonal and public‑speaking abilities.
• Good organizational and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of the CEFR and minimum B2 level English (written and spoken).
• Experience with multicultural audiences; prior FLE teaching experience is a plus.

Required skills

What we offer

• Stipend of AUD 1,500 per month.
• 35 hours per week (including 15 teaching hours).
• Flexible schedule with possible Saturday sessions (9:00‑13:00).
