About the role
The University of Canberra’s Centre for Deliberative Democracy invites an early‑career researcher to lead an independent three‑year research programme. You will explore deliberative and participatory democracy, develop high‑impact scholarship, and contribute to the Centre’s national and international reputation.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct high‑quality research aligned with the Centre’s agenda.
- Publish findings in leading journals and academic presses.
- Develop competitive research funding applications.
- Engage with scholars across Australia and internationally.
- Shape and deliver seminars, workshops, conferences and postgraduate learning activities.
Required profile
- Early‑career researcher with a PhD in political science, sociology, media & communication, philosophy or a closely related discipline.
- Ambitious, self‑directed and passionate about advancing democracy research.
