About the role
The permanent part‑time Staff Specialist role supports the Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) inpatient service at Braeside Hospital, ensuring care aligns with HammondCare’s Mission and Mission‑in‑Action.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality specialist psychiatric services for OPMH inpatients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams and senior medical staff in a cooperative, collegiate manner.
- Teach medical students and trainee doctors and engage in research opportunities as they arise.
Required profile
- Registered (or registerable) Specialist Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry in Australia (AHPRA) with FRANZCP or equivalent qualification.
- Preferably holds Fellowship of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Organisational skills and capacity to supervise.
- Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects.
- Current driver’s licence; research qualification desirable.
