About the role
This permanent position offers a unique split between General Medicine and Infectious Diseases (0.5 FTE each) within a modern regional hospital in the Hunter New England network. The role combines acute inpatient care with subspecialty expertise, supporting a multidisciplinary team and contributing to service development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide evidence‑based specialist care for acute General Medicine patients.
- Deliver Infectious Diseases consultation and management across the hospital.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical governance.
- Lead quality‑improvement initiatives.
- Teach and supervise junior medical staff.
Required profile
- FRACP with Specialist Registration.
- Dual Fellowship in General Medicine and Infectious Diseases, or expected Fellowship in both specialties within six months.
- Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA.
