Staff Software Engineer – Business Accounts

About the role

Airwallex is building an intelligent orchestration layer for its Business Accounts ecosystem, unifying cash, yield, lending and other product surfaces into a seamless financial experience for businesses. As a Staff Software Engineer you will shape the technical foundation of this strategic domain and deliver core investment workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and long‑term technical vision of backend systems, defining engineering strategy and framework selection for the Yield squad.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of core investment workflows—including client signup, investment and redemption—from design through production.
• Build and maintain mission‑critical financial infrastructure such as reconciliation controls, unit registries and investment ledgers.
• Write high‑quality, testable code with strong focus on reliability, maintainability and integration with external investment providers.
• Promote engineering best practices, emphasizing observability, API design and robust integration rails.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure and design teams to ensure optimal business customer experience.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience solving distributed systems challenges (scalability, consistency, latency).
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
