SQL Lead (Remote)

About the role

An experienced SQL Lead is sought to oversee database design, performance optimization and data management initiatives. The role is full time and remote, and calls for someone who can guide and mentor team members while working as an individual contributor. The lead works across several business functions, collaborating with data, BI and application teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views and functions
• Tune queries, indexes and partitions to improve database performance
• Design logical and physical data models for analytical and transactional systems
• Develop, maintain and enhance ETL workflows with SSIS, Azure Data Factory or similar tools
• Ensure data quality, integrity and compliance with enterprise standards
• Work with BI, data science and application teams on reporting and analytics
• Mentor junior developers, review code and set best practices for database design and maintenance

Required profile

• 8 to 12 years of experience
• Strong hands-on SQL, data modeling and ETL expertise
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and excellent communication
