Job description

About the role

Neara builds physics-enabled digital twins of electricity grids using machine learning, helping utilities understand risks and optimise investments. As VP, Deployment you own the model-build engine end to end for a global customer base: model build, QA, deployment processes, contractor partner management and deployment operations. This is an execution role reporting directly to the CEO, leading global build teams and partnering with Digitisation, Engineering, Customer Success and Product. It is not a program management, customer success or account management role.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the engine: end-to-end deployment across model build, QA and CS-defined deployment processes, contractor partner management and deployment operations.
  • Standardise and automate model build and standard processes, turning bespoke work into repeatable offerings and using AI to improve throughput, allocation accuracy and forecasting.
  • Own the delivery economics and metrics: delivery P&L (cost per deployment, contractor spend, utilisation, margin) and KPIs such as cycle time, on-time rate and quality.
  • Hold quality and the delivery playbook so that digital-twin quality and velocity are consistent across regions.
  • Build and lead global teams, developing regional leaders and ICs across AU, US, EU and India who operate autonomously within a single framework.
  • Run the portfolio: prioritisation, capacity allocation across internal teams and contractors, and delivery risk management.

Required profile

  • 10+ years leading delivery or implementation functions, with at least 3 years at VP or equivalent level in a global SaaS business.
  • Background in deep technology or complex enterprise SaaS (engineering-led, data-heavy or physically modelled products); hands-on, technically credible, able to work through model build with teams.
  • Proven track record building or rebuilding a delivery model and enforcing playbooks across distributed teams.
  • Experience leading global delivery teams across regions and timezones (AU, US, EU and India preferred).
  • Familiarity with US enterprise customer dynamics and utility, energy or heavy infrastructure customers is an advantage.
  • Based in Sydney, Australia, willing to travel internationally, including regularly to the US.

Required skills

  • Delivery economics and operational judgment: utilisation, margin, capacity planning and contractor cost structures.
  • Managing third-party contractors and delivery partners at scale.
  • Active user of AI tooling in their own workflow.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary plus ESOP.
  • Significant career development and growth opportunities.
  • Flexible working arrangements with a well-stocked office in Redfern.
  • Regular office events and a meritocratic, non-bureaucratic culture.
