Splunk PS Senior Consultant, Security

About the role

Cisco is hiring a Splunk PS Senior Consultant, Security in Canberra. The role drives technical leadership and innovation in the Splunk security ecosystem, advising customers on multi-functional security initiatives at regional and global scale. It leads the planning and delivery of tailored Splunk solutions such as SIEM, SOAR and AI-driven security operations, working with senior customer leaders to optimise threat detection and response.

Key responsibilities

• Provide authoritative guidance in the Splunk security domain, with deep expertise in SIEM, SOAR and observability integrations.
• Lead multi-functional security projects as a trusted partner to CISO and IT leadership.
• Plan, design and implement custom Splunk security architectures to mitigate risk and maximise technology investment.
• Apply AI and automation tools to optimise security operations and automate incident response.
• Build and maintain high-value customer relationships aligned with their security objectives.
• Define documentation standards for complex security deployments.
• Build advanced simulation environments and support complex security issues.
• Mentor team members on PDIO (Plan, Design, Implement, Optimize) methodologies.
• Share customer feedback with Product Management to influence Splunk products and services.

Required profile

• AGSVA PV clearance and experience with federal government agencies.
• University degree plus equivalent experience of at least 6-8 years.
• Preferred: proven experience leading complex security consulting or engineering projects.
• Preferred: ability to mentor and develop technical consulting teams, and strong communication and presentation skills, including representing technical expertise at industry events.

Required skills

• Expert-level Splunk certification (e.g. Splunk Certified Architect or Splunk Certified Consultant) or equivalent security certification.
• Preferred: advanced skills in automation, SOAR orchestration and AI-driven security operations.
