Speech Pathologist - Early Start Australia Graduate Program

About the role

Early Start Australia is recruiting a Speech Pathology graduate for its Deakin clinic in Canberra. The graduate program offers a smooth transition with onboarding, high-level supervision, a manageable caseload and a dedicated buddy, plus fortnightly technical training and 1-on-1 mentoring with a senior clinician. Therapy is delivered in clinics, clients' homes and schools, and via telehealth.

Key responsibilities

• Help children reach development milestones such as communicating their wants and needs so they can take part in everyday activities.
• Educate and involve parents and carers to support the child's communication and language development.
• Support children to speak with clear and correct pronunciation.
• Treat stuttering and articulation disorders so children speak fluently and confidently.
• Address literacy, reading and writing difficulties together with teachers and schools.
• Teach children the skills to manage a wide range of foods and drinks safely.

Required profile

• Degree in Speech Pathology, with eligibility for SPA registration on graduation.
• Graduated in the last 12 months or graduating in early 2026.
• Full valid driver's licence with access to your own vehicle with third-party insurance.
• Working with Children Check, police check, NDIS Workers Screening Clearance, and First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain them.
