Specialized Travel Counselor - VIP

About the role

Amex GBT's Specialized Travel Counselors work in a high-touch service environment to book travel and accommodations for some of its top clients. The role is performed from home, collaborating with a team to deliver creative, timely travel solutions. It suits people who enjoy quality interactions over high call volume.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers, both individuals and groups
• Book domestic and international business travel (air, road, rail and accommodations) of varying complexity
• Use Global Distribution Systems such as Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus and/or Galileo; training may be provided
• Communicate with customers by telephone, chat, e-mail and back-office systems
• Act as a trusted advisor, proactively recommending additional services while respecting company travel policy
• Meet business and account goals such as customer satisfaction, call adherence and service metrics

Required profile

• Previous travel experience, preferably business travel, and knowledge of fares and ticketing rules for car, air and hotel
• Background in business travel, leisure travel or airline reservations
• Strong understanding of the travel industry
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and independently
• Flexibility to work afternoon shifts (12-8pm) and weekends, as the Traveler Care unit runs 24/7

Required skills

• Native GDS expertise (Sabre, Apollo, Amadeus and/or Galileo)
• Professional written and verbal communication
• Attention to detail and integrity with personal traveler information
