Specialist Technician – ICT Support for Schools (Victoria)

About the role

Bytewize is looking for experienced Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to provide technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). The role involves managing and maintaining ICT infrastructure across Department of Education sites, supporting staff and students, and delivering professional development where required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks and server environments.
• Provide ICT support services in large, technology‑driven learning environments.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development sessions.
• Plan, deploy and manage 1:1 and BYOD device programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level IT support experience, preferably within the TSSP, education sector or large corporate environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in Australia (citizen, PR or permanent visa), a current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to undergo police and background checks.

What we offer

• Salary range $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rata) with top rates based on skills and experience.
