Specialist Family Violence Practitioner - Men's

About the role

Bayside Health, a public health service in metropolitan Melbourne and surrounding areas, is recruiting a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner for a permanent part-time position of 26.6 hours per week in Frankston. The role facilitates Men's Behaviour Change Groups, working with men who use violence to improve the safety of women and children. It is classified as Social Worker Grade 2 (Year 1-4) or Community Development Worker Grade 2B, plus super.

Key responsibilities

• Co-facilitate Men's Behaviour Change Programs, covering planning, preparation, session delivery, debriefing and documentation in line with Family Safety Victoria and Peninsula Health policy
• Perform complex assessments, deliver case management and other client-centred interventions to support healing and the cessation of violence
• Work with the understanding that violence is primarily gender-based while taking a holistic approach to trauma and life experiences
• May also be asked to conduct assessments, provide case management and engage in flexible intervention delivery for AUFV

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Social Sciences or a related field, aligned with the mandatory minimum qualification for a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner
• Family Violence Grad Certificate (Men's) or working towards it by an agreed date
• Proven experience facilitating Men's Behaviour Change Programs
• Experience working with male perpetrators of violence, ideally in specialist family violence services
