Specialist Construction Supervisor

About the role

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is seeking a Specialist Construction Supervisor to lead construction and fabrication projects across the Midwest region of Western Australia. This permanent, full‑time position is based in Geraldton and supports the delivery of visitor facilities, operational buildings and ranger infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise construction and fabrication projects for offices, operational facilities and visitor attractions.
• Lead departmental construction teams, ranger teams and external contractors, providing mentorship and on‑the‑job training.
• Prepare and review construction and fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with design standards and building codes.
• Liaise with design engineers, surveyors, contractors and other industry professionals on high‑level construction matters.
• Deliver on‑site training to Aboriginal ranger teams, conservation staff and other personnel as required.

Required profile

• Significant experience in designing, maintaining and constructing small buildings, offices and recreational infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, relevant standards and building codes of practice.
• Proven ability to prepare and interpret construction drawings, accurately quantify materials and oversee project execution.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with specialist design staff, engineers, surveyors and construction crews.
