Spare Parts Interpreter (Parts Supervisor)

About the role

Komatsu Forklift Australia promotes, sells, hires and services Komatsu forklifts and related products. It is looking for an experienced Spare Parts Interpreter to join its Brisbane branch, reporting to the Branch Manager. The role leads the team that interprets, processes and supports customer spare parts requirements, using a variety of communication tools to ensure prompt turnaround on spare parts inquiries and orders. The roster is Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Compile quotes for the service department and external customers
• Prepare customer invoices and enter external and internal sales data into the parts computer
• Review market competitiveness of parts and discuss discounts for volume customers
• Arrange courier pick-ups and deliveries
• Control stock replenishment for the warehouse and field service vans
• Prepare and dispatch inter-branch stock transfer requests
• Assist Field Service and Workshop technicians in locating and ordering parts for breakdown repairs
• Process parts required for workshop sales and hire preps
• Process daily paperwork, including booking out parts collected for jobs and completed incoming part orders
• Raise purchase orders, goods receipts and update purchased stock
• Identify product and process problems and make recommendations

Required profile

• Experience in a similar role within the automotive or light vehicle industry
• Passion for leadership and mentoring others
• Customer-focused, able to liaise with internal and external customers
• Current driver's licence and forklift ticket

Required skills

• Inventory control and warehouse systems experience
• Understanding of parts sales and supply chain activities
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Competent in Microsoft Office
