Project Manager - Melbourne

About the role

An experienced Project Manager is sought to join the Blue Water Shipping team in Melbourne, managing a project for one of its major clients. Reporting to the State Manager, the role covers overall project leadership, stakeholder management, governance and performance oversight from mobilisation through to final completion, ensuring customer, commercial, operational, contractual and safety requirements are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project mobilisation, implementation and operational readiness activities
• Develop and maintain project execution plans, schedules, milestones and delivery strategies
• Manage customer relationships and act as the main point of contact for project delivery
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders and oversee governance, reporting, risk and change management
• Manage project finances, including forecasting, cost control, invoicing, variations and budget monitoring
• Ensure compliance with contracts, company procedures, HSE requirements and customer standards
• Approve key operational plans, schedules and resource requirements, and manage documentation, records and close-out
• Support claims management, dispute resolution and commercial negotiations where needed
• Drive continuous improvement and lessons learned, and ensure customer satisfaction

Required profile

• Experience managing oversized/out-of-gauge cargo
• Proven track record setting up and managing project sites
• Diploma, first degree or relevant experience; 10+ years of international logistics experience
• Strong negotiation skills and a complete understanding of BWS values
• English spoken and written at CEFR level 5
• Able to obtain and maintain a criminal history clearance
