Sourcing & Purchasing Manager - ANZ

About the role

A well-established Australian business in the consumer and commercial products sector, supplying high-volume products across Australia and New Zealand, is creating a new senior Sourcing & Purchasing Manager role. The position takes ownership of about $50m in annual direct procurement spend and is responsible for sourcing strategies that improve margin, optimise working capital, strengthen supplier performance and support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies across local and international suppliers
• Drive cost reduction, margin improvement and bottom-line performance
• Lead supplier negotiations and strengthen strategic supplier relationships
• Consolidate suppliers and optimise the balance between local and offshore sourcing
• Manage inventory, core SKUs, inventory days and SLOB to improve working capital
• Maintain a 99% fill rate on core product lines and support NPD and product development, including onboarding offshore suppliers
• Support the growth of the own-brand portfolio and transition products to offshore sourcing as volumes grow
• Lead and develop a team of four across Demand & Procurement and Procurement, working with Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, Commercial and NPD teams

Required profile

• Commercially minded procurement and sourcing leader with experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment such as FMCG, consumables, packaging or cleaning products
• Experience managing local and international/offshore suppliers and high-volume transactional buying
• Demonstrated success delivering cost reduction and margin improvement
• Experience with NPD, product development, inventory, service levels, fill rates and range rationalisation
• People leadership experience and the ability to influence stakeholders
