Software Engineer - YAML Experience

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Software Engineer to author, review, and evaluate YAML configurations that power AI‑generated code. This fully remote, flexible contract position focuses on configuration, schemas, and system logic, ensuring AI outputs are accurate, well‑formed, and production‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Author, review, and maintain YAML files used for configuration, data pipelines, and system definitions.
• Evaluate AI‑generated YAML and structured configurations for accuracy, consistency, and schema compliance.
• Identify formatting issues, logical inconsistencies, and edge cases in configuration files.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to support reliable system behavior and data quality.
• Apply rigorous attention to detail to catch errors before they impact downstream systems.
• Complete task‑based assignments independently on your own schedule.

Required profile

• 1+ year of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience working with YAML in real‑world production or data‑driven environments.
• Highly detail‑oriented; able to spot subtle errors and inconsistencies.
• Familiar with version‑control workflows (e.g., Git) and structured engineering processes.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and follow precise technical requirements.
• Consistent when working asynchronously.
