Software Engineer, Payments Identity

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build intelligent, automated identity verification workflows for its payments platform. You will integrate the platform with Google products and external vendors while ensuring compliance with diverse international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Program Managers, and Technical Leads to translate complex requirements into clean, maintainable code.
• Develop and maintain code that connects the payments platform with a variety of clients and Google services.
• Adapt solutions to meet local regulatory requirements across multiple countries, balancing global consistency with local compliance.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues related to identity data processing, rule‑engine configurations, and secure data handling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience working with cross‑functional partners such as UX and Product teams.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
