Software Engineer (mid-level, remote Australia)

About the role

Lightning Visuals is looking for a mid‑level Software Engineer to join its growing team. The role is fully remote within Australia, ideally based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, and offers the chance to work on broadcast graphics, cloud‑based data integrations and IoT devices for live television and sport events.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and support SaaS software solutions for broadcast graphics.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code that integrates with third‑party APIs and IoT devices.
• Review, debug, validate, verify and maintain applications for functionality, performance and security.
• Collaborate with the development team to deliver projects on time and within budget, using appropriate project‑management tracking.
• Automate repetitive tasks through scripting and tooling where appropriate.
• Analyse and troubleshoot software issues and provide remote on‑call support for scheduled sporting events.
• Document development phases, code and processes to ensure re‑usability and maintainability.
• Support sales and marketing initiatives by contributing to project proposals and new‑business efforts.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in software development, preferably in a full‑stack environment.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
• Willingness to be rostered for after‑hours and weekend on‑call support when required.
