Software Engineer

About the role

Join a fast‑growing Australian cyber‑security and networking business that is building AI‑powered tools for customers and internal teams. You will work directly with the Head of Software & AI on both customer‑facing products and internal tooling, delivering features that impact thousands of decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for customer and internal platforms.
• Integrate large language models and external APIs into production‑grade tools.
• Build, containerise and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Write well‑tested, maintainable code and champion engineering best practices.
• Participate in Agile (Scrum) cycles, planning and shipping regularly.
• Collaborate with product, cloud and cyber‑security teams to turn ideas into working software.
• Propose and prototype new ideas, seeing them through to deployment.

Required profile

• Strong experience delivering production software.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns and testability.
• Confidence in a modern language (Go or Node.js preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Comfort with APIs, cloud platforms and version control (Git).
• Proficient use of AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code) with good judgement.
• Strong testing discipline and a builder’s mindset.
