Software Engineer

About the role

Lightning Visuals is looking for a mid‑level Software Engineer to help build cloud‑based solutions that power live television graphics and IoT integrations. The position is fully remote within Australia, offering high autonomy and the chance to work on cutting‑edge broadcast and sports‑tech projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and support SaaS applications for broadcast graphics.
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code that interfaces with third‑party APIs and IoT devices.
• Review, debug, validate, verify and optimise software for performance and security.
• Collaborate with the development team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Automate repetitive tasks using appropriate tools and scripting.
• Analyse and troubleshoot software issues, providing remote on‑call support for sporting events.
• Document code, development phases and processes to ensure re‑usability.
• Stay current with software development trends and contribute ideas for new features.
• Support sales and marketing initiatives by contributing to project proposals.

Required profile

• Mid‑level software engineering experience.
• Strong technical aptitude and problem‑solving mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a close‑knit team.
• Willingness to be on‑call for after‑hours support when needed.
