Software Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Software Engineer to join a high‑performing delivery team. You will work on mission‑critical and enterprise systems, applying secure and quality‑focused development practices in a complex, regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate and test software components that meet defined requirements and standards.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from planning through deployment support.
• Write secure, maintainable and testable code using approved tools and frameworks.
• Perform coding, unit testing and support system integration and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot routine defects, investigate issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, document solutions and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience delivering production systems across the SDLC.
• Australian citizenship and an active TSPV security clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript and/or C#.
• Experience building or integrating REST APIs/services.
• Familiarity with source‑control and issue‑tracking tools.
• Understanding of Agile, CI/CD pipelines and container concepts (a plus).
